Jacqueline Shuler
|
Jacqueline Shuler is employed with the South Carolina Department of Social Services where she manages statewide human services programs that serve children with complex medical conditions and children with mental health needs. She is a Certified Public Manager who has 4 years of experience in private child welfare services and more than 17 years of experience in public child welfare services. Her special achievement was administering a multi-county region for adoption and birth parent services. She remains passionately dedicated to improving care for children in the public child welfare system who are awaiting an adoptive family. Because of that dedication, she maintains her Certified Investigator credential for conducting home studies.
She strongly supports and participates in several organizations that serve the good of the community. Jacqueline is a member of the Planning Advisory Board and is the lead group facilitator for Sarcoidosis of South Carolina; she has volunteered with Brett's Rainbow Camp - a camp for children experiencing bereavement; and she chairs the Human Services Board for Hearts Around the World, Inc. - a social assistance organization. In addition to her work with children and families, Jacqueline has found the time to serve as a Guest Services Specialist in a large area hospital system. In that capacity, she helps to institutionalize the practice and application of service delivery within the cultural context of the customer.
Jacqueline’s formal education has enhanced her desire to be a community and public servant. She has earned undergraduate degrees in Criminal Justice and Social Work as well as a graduate degree in Rehabilitation Counseling.
Jacqueline has a varied background in social services and child welfare services. This, coupled with her other volunteer experiences, will enhance the work of Children’s Chance and of the Board. |

Stacey Quattlebaum
for providing the Faces of Hope
program to Children's Chance families
About the Faces of Hope program:
Faces of Hope photo shoot program is a photo session
with a professional photographer for families who have a child with
cancer. The families are able to have lasting memories of their journey
with pediatric cancer. Each family is presented with a photo book of 10
black and white photos and a CD of all the images so they can make
additional prints. This program is provided free to families.
About the Photographer, Stacey Quattlebaum:
I am 28 years
old and a mother of 3. I have a son who was born December 10, 2003 and
passed away September 13, 2005 from a rare and aggressive form of
infantile leukemia. The moment I had my son, I became interested in
photography. I was in complete and total awe of the beauty of a child
and wanted to capture every special moment so that I could hold on to
those memories for the rest of my life. That is exactly what I did and
after my son passed away, I realized how special those photographs of
him are to my entire family and everyone else who got to know this
amazing little boy. I became a child photographer so I can give parents
something to treasure, moments to remember, and the chance to capture
their most prized possessions in ways that make their hearts melt. I am
thrilled to be able to offer my time and services for free to pediatric
oncology patients and their families. This business was started in
memory of my son, John Reid Quattlebaum. All of the brave little
patients I encountered throughout my son's battle with leukemia are my
inspiration.
