Tammy Hicks

Tammy Hicks is currently employed as a Manager at Colonial Life & Accident Insurance Company. She currently manages the unit responsible for cancer claims. Tammy has worked with the company for 20 years and has spent the past 15 years working with cancer insured’s. Her volunteer experience began with being a platelet donor and Children's Chance through Colonial. She also volunteers with the Humane Society.
Tammy decided to become a board member with Children's Chance to learn more about the firsthand the impact that pediatric cancer has on families. Tammy's mother was a victim of a brain tumor and she saw first hand the financial burden cancer has on a family. Tammy explains, “There are many reasons I want to help and be more active in Children's Chance. The claims on children with cancer are always the hardest for me to process and/or review. And I think of the parents who have to struggle to make ends meet while trying to save their child. Another big reason I decided to become a board member is Susan Barber. She is an inspiration to me. One who opened a lot of eyes about childhood diseases. ” |
