Board Highlight!
Meet a Board Member
|
|

Steven Langer
|
Steven is a native Columbian.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina,
he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in
Liberal Arts and is the Columbia Area
Coordinator for Limestone College. Steven
believes that his active commitment to community
service clearly stems from his mother and late
father, who by their own examples taught him the
importance of giving back to one's community.
Not only is Steven a board member of Children's
Chance, but he currently serves as the Chair
of their Board Enrichment Committee. Also,
Steven currently serves as the Club President
for the Richland Sertoma Club and his
accomplishments include serving as Club
Secretary, Co-Chair of the Membership and Social
Committees and receiving Good Enthusiastic
Member (GEM) and Leadership Awards. He is
married to Sally, the father of three daughters
- Suzanne, Leah and Ariana, and the grandfather
of Ian and Gabriela. In addition to his
involvement with Children's Chance and
leadership with the Richland Sertoma Club,
Steven is a charter member of the Mens' Club at
his synagogue, the Tree of Life Congregation.
Having actively served on several non-profit
boards over the years, most recently Steven was
a member of the Board of Directors of Tree of
Life Synagogue, the Katie and Irwin Kahn Jewish
Community Center and the Columbia Holocaust
Memorial Monument Committee. In his spare time,
Steven enjoys listening to just about all kinds
of music, staying abreast of current events, as
well as cooking and eating good food and
spending quality time with his family and
friends.
When asked why he wanted to
become involved with Children's Chance, Steven
explains, "I want to be involved in something as
important as Children's Chance in meeting the
needs of families that other cancer-related
organizations do not serve".
Thank you to all of the Children's Chance Board of
Directors
for your continued support of families facing
pediatric cancer! |
