  1. Respect and support the majority decisions of the board.

  1. Recognize that all authority is vested in the board when it meets in legal session and not in individual board members.

  1. Keep well-informed of developments that are relevant to issues that may come before the board.

  1. Participate actively in board meetings and actions.

  1. Call to the attention of the board any issues I believe will have an adverse effect on the agency or SC families facing pediatric cancer.

  1. Refer families or staff complaints to the proper level on the chain of command.

  1. Vote to hire the best possible person to manage the agency.

  1. Consider myself a "trustee" of the agency and do my best to ensure that the agency is well maintained, financially secure, growing, and always operating on the best interests of SC families facing pediatric cancer.

  1. Always work to learn more about the board member's job and how to do the job better.
