May 21, 2007 – Lexington, SC:  The 10th Annual Billy Mill Charity Golf Classic sponsored by The Junior Woman’s Club of Lexington and the Mill Family, to benefit Children’s Chance, will be held on Monday, May 21, 2007 at The Country Club of Lexington located at 1066 Barr Road in Lexington.  Registration begins at 8:30 am, with the shotgun start at 10:00 am. Events of the day include 18 holes of golf, raffle prizes & goodie bags, a silent & live auction with an array of items, and a great meal at the end of the day, all to help children battling cancer in South Carolina.

Samantha Higgins, PR Director for Children’s Chance explains, “The Billy Mill Golf Classic is our biggest and best fundraiser, last year’s event raised over $63,000 to help children battling cancer throughout the state of South Carolina and their families. We are so grateful to the Mill Family of Lexington, The Junior Woman’s Club, and the countless supporters and volunteers who make this event possible”!

This year’s tournament will also feature some very special children who are fighting cancer. These guests of honor will assist in handing out goodie bags to the golfers and reminding everyone why this tournament is so important in helping children and families throughout the state of South Carolina who are facing pediatric cancer. Scotty Mill, head of the event, will kick off the tournament around 9:45 am!

Children’s Chance is a non-profit organization dedicated to meeting the financial, psychological, and emotional needs of South Carolina children and families affected by pediatric cancer.  Proceeds from the Billy Mill Golf Classic will fund a variety of programs including Discretionary Funds which provide financial assistance for non-medical bills, Angel Funds which provide gas and food cards, Counseling, Teen Support Groups, and Special Events, to assist these families during their child’s cancer diagnosis, treatment, and hopefully recovery.  For more information about the 10th annual Billy Mill Charity Golf Classic or Children’s Chance, please contact Samantha Higgins at (803) 254-5996 or visit us online at www.childrenschance.org
