FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Columbia, SC: February 27, 2007 - The 8th Annual CAPS (child and parent) Soccer Clinic was held Saturday and Sunday, February 24-25 from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. at the USC Indoor Fieldhouse on Whaley Street.  Hosted by the USC Men's Varsity Soccer Team & Coaches, and the Columbia YMCA to benefit Children’s Chance, this year’s CAPS clinic was a huge success with about 40 children and their parents participating to learn the game of soccer in a fun way, while helping SC families facing pediatric cancer by raising close to $2,000!

“It’s a great opportunity to give something back to the game and give something back to the community, “Head Coach Mark Berson states.  “Each year, we’ve raised around $3,000 to help kids fighting cancer right here in the Midlands.  We are privileged to be part of this special organization.”

The 8th Annual CAPS Soccer Clinic featured the USC Men’s Varsity Team and Coaching Staff teaching soccer techniques, tips, and pointers to enthusiastic kids and their parents over a two day period. Kids also enjoyed t-shirts sponsored by Children’s Chance and Eat More Tees, snack time with the water sponsored by Bi-Lo, and Free Milk Shake coupons donated by Hardees.
