 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Lizard’s Thicket teams up with Children’s Chance to help Kids with Cancer!

Columbia, SC: September, 2006- Throughout the entire month of September, all Lizard’s Thickets restaurants in South Carolina will team up with Children’s Chance to house donations buckets to raise money and awareness for children battling cancer and their families.

Samantha Higgins, Public Relations Director of Children’s Chance states, “We are so excited to team up with Lizard’s Thicket throughout the entire month of September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month to help raise money and awareness for children battling cancer right here in South Carolina. All you have to do is drop in your spare change or dollars at a Lizard’s Thicket near you, and you can help those families in your own community who are dealing with childhood cancer.”

All Lizard’s Thicket locations throughout the state of South Carolina (for a list of locations please log on to www.childrenschance.org and go to the events section to print out a flyer) will house the donation buckets at their restaurants for the entire month of September to help raise money and awareness for Children’s Chance and families facing pediatric cancer. Tell friends, family, and the community to visit a Lizard’s Thicket location near you anytime in September, 2006.

Founded in 1996, Children’s Chance is the only statewide non profit organization that is dedicated to providing children facing cancer and their families with non-medical financial, emotional, and, psychological support. Proceeds from the Lizard’s Thicket collection will fund a variety of programs including art therapy, counseling programs, teen support groups, Discretionary funds which help families pay non medical bills such as mortgage or electric payments, and Angel Funds which provide families with small out of pocket expenses to make their trips to the clinic a little easier, such as gas or food cards.
