Children's Chance & our ambassador Zig the Pig offer many exciting opportunities to support our families through different fundraisers and events, including the Caps Soccer Clinic, Cuts for Cancer, and the Billy Mill Golf Classic.


Zig the Pig

Zig the Pig is the lovable Zebra striped Pig who serves as the ambassador for Children's Chance!

Zig is an advocate for children with cancer and visits schools, businesses, and community events to raise awareness and funds to help his kids!

If you see a ziggybank in the community, feed him your silver and greens!


Visit Zig at his Zig Zite to find out where he's been and where he will be to help kids with cancer!

Your school or business can Adopt Zig the Pig and help families!!! Limited Adoption Spaces Available


4th Annual Cuts for Cancer

When: April 20th & 21st, 2008!
Sunday, April 20 from 2-5 pm
Monday, April 21 from 10:30 am-5:00 pm

Where: Kenneth Shuler School of Cosmetology located at 449 St. Andrews Road

What: Receive a $5.00 hair cut, mini-pedicure, mini-manicure, or a variety of other services to benefit the Children's Chance ambassador,
Zig the Pig and help his children with cancer and their families!

BI-Lo Scan Card Fundraiser

When: May 7 - June 10th 2008

What: Donate $1.00 at the register of participating Bi-Lo locations to help SC children with cancer and their families!

Look for the Children's Chance ambassador Zig the Pig at participating locations for special events!


In 2007, the following four Bi-Lo locations raised over $17,000 for SC children with cancer and their families! Thank you!

11th Annual Billy Mill Golf Classic

When: Monday, June 2, 2008

Where: The Country Club of Lexington

What: The Billy Mill Golf Classic is put on every year with the help and dedication of The Mill Family, PASCO, and countless volunteers and donors. The tournament features 18 holes of golf, raffle and door prizes, silent and live auctions, wonderful food, and great fun. The tournament honors the memory of Billy Mill, a local philanthropist, while raising money for Children's Chance.

Children of Hope Art Exhibit

What: The Children of Hope Art Exhibit displays artwork created by children with cancer and blood disorders who participate in the Ryan Crout Art Therapy program at Palmetto Health Richland which is funded by Children's Chance.

Carolina Q Cup-
Children's Chance Backyard BBQ Contest & Event

When:
October 25th, 2008

Where: Hendrix Farms in Lexington
WANTED!!!
Families who have a child with cancer have the opportunity to compete in the Backyard BBQ Division of the Carolina Q Cup BBQ Contest! The event is free and open to any child in South Carolina who has been affected by pediatric cancer and their families! Kids can cook their best backyard BBQ with their family and have the opportunity to win cash prizes. Events of the day include the BBQ cookoff, a picnic lunch, games and fun, and announcement of prizes.

2nd Annual Charity
Paintball Tournament:
Carolina Fans Vs. Clemson Fans

When: November 22, 2008

Where: Triggertyme Paintball

What: Come out and compete in this new signature event to help SC children with cancer. The tournament features a combative paintball game, raffle prizes including a Gamecock football signed by Coach Spurrier and a Clemson football signed by Coach Bowden, lunch provided by The Carolina Ale House, all for a great cause!

An Evening with the Gamecocks

When: December 2009, Date TBA!

Where:

What: Every year Children's Chance teams up with the Gamecock football team and coaches to put on the annual "Evening with the Gamecocks" event for children facing cancer and their families throughout the state of South Carolina. The children and families get to eat dinner with the Gamecock football players, get their favorite memorabilia autographed, and just have fun hanging out with the team.

CAPS Soccer Clinic

When: February 2009, Date TBA!

Where: The University of South           Carolina, Indoor Fieldhouse on Whaley St.

What: CAPS soccer clinic is a child and parent soccer clinic hosted by the YMCA and the USC men's soccer team and coaches, to benefit Children's Chance. Kids and their parents have an opportunity to learn soccer from the USC varsity team and coaches, all for a great cause. For more information about the event please call (803) 254-5996.
