When children are diagnosed with
cancer, many parents are overwhelmed by the medical side of the
diagnosis. Many times they dont have time to research resources,
talk to other parents, or learn to deal with the stress. These
parents are asked to make life alternating decisions about their
childs life. The program will assist these parents in learning how
to deal with many aspects of being a parent of a child with a life
threatening disease. Parents of children with cancer have many
questions and concerns. It is a time of uncertainty and anxiety as
they face many new challenges. The Lunch and Learn Series gives

session, lunch will be provided to all participants and their
children.
The goal of the Lunch & Learn Series
is to provide useful information to the parents, to help them
develop better coping skills, and to reduce their sense of
isolation.
The program will impact 40
parents. These parents will be more informed about their
options and help them to learn how to deal with lasting issues
