Children's Chance raises money to fund programs and provide resources that assist South Carolina children and their families facing pediatric cancer. Children's Chance has funded an array of beneficial programs in South Carolina to help families face pediatric cancer, including discretionary funding, angel funds, art therapy, music therapy, pre-teen support, transition recovery after cancer experience clinic, teen support, sibling day, lunch & learn series, family weekend, neuro-oncology clinic, and counseling.

 

Children’s Chance is pleased to announce funding for the following programs for the funding year of October 1, 2007 - September 30, 2008:

 

Children’s Cancer and Blood Disorder Clinic at Palmetto Health Richland

Teen Support - Lasting Impressions

Bereavement Program

Neuro-Oncology Clinic 
Family Weekend  
Transition Recovery After Cancer Clinic  
Long Term Education Follow up for Brain Tumor Survivors
Art Therapy - The Ryan Crout Art Therapy Program
 
Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Greenville Hospital System
Pre-Teen Support – The Adventures 
Sibling Day
Teen Support  - SCAT
 
Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Medical University of South Carolina
Teen Support – Can-Teen
Child Life in the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit

                                                



These programs are administered through seven pediatric oncology clinics, as well as made available to families directly through the Children's Chance office, to assist families through psychological, emotional and financial support.  The clinics include Palmetto Health Richland in Columbia, Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston (MUSC), Greenville Children's Hospital, Duke University Medical Center, Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Carolina Medical Center in Charlotte and Presbyterian Hospital. We work closely with the staff of these clinics to ensure our funds are making a difference in the lives of these families. Children's Chance programs are provided at no cost regardless of race, creed, gender, or religious affiliation.
