This unique adoption was
started by a USC group of students in the Giving
Back program.
We would like to thank the following USC
students:
Caroline Hulett, Ali Cook,
Charles Black, Mike Newton, Will Kish,
Bryant Gambrell, and Gurminder Thind
Ms. Nancy Cordova and her Blythewood Middle
School AVID Program students conducted the Zig Adoption. The AVID program is
a fourth through twelfth grade system to prepare
students in the academic middle for four-year
college eligibility. It has a proven track
record in bringing out the best in students, and
in closing the achievement gap. AVID stands for
Advancement Via Individual Determination.
The AVID program raised money
through Ziggybank collections and Zig
merchandise sales!

Zig visited the school about twice a week to
encourage the kids to keep helping Zig help kids with cancer.
Congaree also had Zig on their morning announcements.
Congratulations
to Ms. Ripply's 5th Grade Class who raised
the most money. Ms. Ripply was Zig-napped and taken for a
special lunch. Each of the students in her class will
receive a special gift from Zig.
