What Zig Does Through lasting friendships, Zig the Pig will increase pediatric cancer awareness to inspire philanthropy, understanding, and compassion while creating a self-sustaining revenue stream to meet the non-medical, direct needs of families facing pediatric cancer. You’d never believe all the places I’ve been and people I’ve met in South Carolina! My Ziggybanks™ — zebra-striped ceramic piggy banks — are adopted by ZigKeepers™ and placed throughout the community in shops, restaurants, churches, etc. Feeding my Ziggybanks with "greens and silvers" helps families facing pediatric cancer in South Carolina. I promote pediatric cancer education and awareness, and I help fund Children's Chance programs that meet the psychological, emotional and financial needs so that these families can remain functional and intact. Schools, churches, synagogues, corporations and clubs can participate in Zig adoptions where they feed my Ziggybanks. Your organization can choose to feed my ziggybanks for a short period of time, such as a week or two. Or your group can choose to organize a one-day event, such as a carnival, car wash or picnic. The best thing about helping Zig is that you can use your imagination and come up with something creative and fun! Corporations may also choose to support the Zig program by becoming a sponsor. We have several opportunities, from overall corporate sponsors to sponsorship at various levels or for individual programs. For more information, please contact us. An individual can also become a ZigKeeper! Just find your Ziggybank a home in the community at a place that gets lots of traffic, like a restaurant or a dry cleaner. Places where people pay at the counter with cash are my favorite feeding spots! When your ziggybank’s belly is full, you simply write a check for the amount collected and mail it to the Children's Chance office. Or, if you don’t like to count change, you can bring it to the Children's Chance office in person. Don’t worry - when you adopt a Ziggybank, we give you a list of suggestions and instructions. Please call us and let us know how you would like to get involved and help Zig!
